Directions to Ivy Hill Cemetery

If you are relying on a GPS system to guide you to Ivy Hill Cemetery, please input the street address of the Cemetery, 2823 King Street Alexandria, VA 22302. Using just the cemeteries name will direct you to a walk in gate at the side of the cemetery.

From I 395

Take the King Street East, U.S. Route 7, exit and proceed toward Old Town Alexandria, through 7 traffic lights. The 7th light will be at entrance for Chinquapin Park Recreation Center and T. C. Williams High Schools main entrance. Once through this light the Cemetery will be on your left, just past the 2 churches. The entrance is beside the beige and blue trimmed 2 story 1850’s farmhouse that serves as the Cemetery office.

From Old Town Alexandria, U.S. Route 1, King Street METRO Station or Walking

Take King Street, U. S. Route 7, west past the METRO station continue up King Street hill keeping the Masonic Temple on your left. The Cemetery will be on your right hand side once you have passed through the intersection with Janney’s Lane (T intersection). The entrance will be just before the beige and blue trimmed 2 story 1850’s farmhouse that serves as the Cemetery office.

From the Capital Beltway, I 95

Using the LOCAL lanes on the Beltway, you will take the route U. S. 1 exit to the north. Proceed to King Street and turn left and follow the above instructions for from Old Town Alexandria.

Public Transportation

Walking from King Street Metro stop, please use the directions above for from Old Town Alexandria. This is about a 20 minute walk on sidewalks, it is mainly an uphill walk.

Taxis are available at the King Street Metro Station.

Several Alexandria DASH and Metrobus buses run past Ivy Hill Cemetery and the stops are less than a block from the entrance of the cemetery. If you are on lower King Street you can take the free King Street Trolley to the Metro station and proceed from there.
